In Victoria’s own words: “I love showing beauty in things that the world deems ugly, as well as making something that is abstract a little more concrete. Like taking people's voices and sometimes music and painting the colors with them.” Creating art is an outlet for Victoria and is a form of sanctuary for her as like many other artists. Cavier comes from a tough urban background in Detroit but currently lives and creates in New York City, constantly being inspired by the energy of the city. He paints constantly and has a large variety of work. Cavier is a multidisciplinary artist working within the realms of painting, photography, music and digital art. He uses a mix of mediums to paint on, using old tshirts, old canvases and wood. His art is bright and colorful and covers an array of topics including race and sexuality. In his own words Cavier states that “I think my art gives a juxtaposed position of reality and the superhuman, in the sense that we can be those things, we could have superpowers and we can tap in to our greater gifts. I think those things are very important when creating art because you have to have a dialogue with the art. So, I try to focus on that.”
